The car audio speakers are the source of your greatest comfort while traveling and it is a good thing if you know how to repair them when you are on the road and far from any mechanics. You actually do not need to be a professional to fix car audio speakers — just a bit savvy with the basics rather.

The first thing to check when the car audio speakers fail to deliver proper sound (or no sound at all) is the connections or the wiring. Check from both sides in playing mode and see if they are connected properly; check the continuity of the wires from the deck to the car audio speakers and if you find that the wires are broken, then replacing the full length of the wire will get you car audio speakers back in order with the expected quality of sound.

If after taking this step, still there is no sound from the speakers, then check the coil and web of them using the help of an AA cell. Join both sides of the audio speakers’ wires to both sides of the battery and see if it causes a thump when connected. If it pops up then your speakers should be able to play again. By noticing the type of movements of the needle in and out of its frame you can determine the speakers’ polarity and you will know when the connection of the car speaker to the amplifier is correct.

You need to take precautions to see that the magnet of the car audio speakers should never be in contact with any metallic substance or thing which may cause them to produce distorted and/or low quality of sound. Also check that nothing is obstructing the path of sound such as clothes, shopping bags, etc.

In case the car audio speakers still fail to play, then you have reached your limit. The set is likely irreparable and this means the speakers are certainly dead and you need to have them replaced. While doing so ensure that the new car audio speakers are compatible with the system you already use.

Make sure that you have noise-reducers installed so the car speakers can deliver clear and undistorted sound tracks by filtering out the background static and other interferences. Most speakers do have built in twitters, but you can also have additional twitters installed if you want to enhance the quality of sound.
