Car Surround Sound Systems
2007
Present-day movie theaters advertise their possession of new surround sound systems. Each surround sound system allows the movie goers to receive sound from every direction. A car takes-up a much smaller space than a movie theater. Why should a car owner want to learn about a car surround sound system?
When a DVD of a movie is made, or when the sound track of a movie is put onto a CD, then the sounds of the surround sound system are contained in that DVD or that CD. When the DVD or the CD is played on a car audio system it should reproduce the surround sound experience. That can only be accomplished if a car has a car surround sound system.
The surround sound information within the DVD or the CD exists in a type of electrical code. The sound system can decode that information and feed it into the car audio system. If a car owner desires, then the car surround sound system can contain other important features.
A surround system can be designed to add sound effects and echoes to the information extracted from the sound signal. A car surround sound system might also be equipped to change the phasing or the delay in the sound signals. Perhaps the most desirable of the extra features on a car surround sound system is the DSP.
DSP stands for digital signal processing. The DSP unit takes the digital signals that come from a CD or a DVD and it reprocesses those signals. The reprocessing of the signals allows the car audio system to recreate the sounds of a concert hall or a disco club.
What car owner would not want to impress his or her passengers with something that seemed like a recreation of the sounds on a disco dance floor?
