Shop for an All-In-One Car Sound System
2007
In today’s car market, both the public and automakers have made car entertainment systems in particular in car sound system top priority. The car has since it’s creation been a symbol of coming of age and freedom. The only thing that can make a car better is a great car audio system. The type of car audio systems available has come a long way since the tube radio.
Average consumers in the market for a car stereo are at a disadvantage because they lack the functional information to know the basic of audio systems, what they want, and what is a good price for it. The basic parts of a car sound systems are the head unit, the amplifier, speakers, and input devices.
The head unit is the central piece of an audio system. Without the head unit the system will not function. Therefore it is important to have a quality piece of equipment as the basis to the system. The head unit is what is traditionally known as the radio–it is the processing device. It manages all the controls of the system including volume, base, tuner, cassette, equalizer, CD, amplifier.
Head Unit
This is the heart and soul of your system. Without this component, your car sound system can’t and won’t work. The head unit, or, more simply, the radio, is the central processing device in the system. Many people have a comparable audio system unit in their homes. However, the main difference is that in a vehicle there is a space constraint. This is the reason that all-in-one car audio systems are so popular because the unit is small, already put together, and easy to install.
Amplifier
A great amplifier is essential for a rewarding and fun audio experience. Usually the amplifier is found in the back of the head unit, depending on the model of car it can be found elsewhere depending on space and temperature issues. Amplification is when a single signal is multiple again and again giving the sound depth and range. There are two parts to the amplification procedure. The preamplifier or preamp is the single signal which often can not be heard alone. Once the preamp reaches the power amplifier that is when the signal (music) becomes audible.
Car Speakers
The way speakers work is that they convert the amplified single which is electrical energy to mechanical energy. This can be seen in the movement in the speaker. The vibration leaves the speakers and can be heard by the ears. Sound is usually measured in hertz. There are three parts of the speaker components which include woofers, tweeters, and mid-range drivers. A woofer transmits low frequencies similar to the sound of the man voice, and a tweeter reproduces higher frequencies like a baby crying. Mid-range drivers take care of all of frequencies found in between the woofer and tweeter frequencies.
Input Devices
Input Devices
Anything that can be plugged into a car sound system is considered an input device. These input devices may include MP3 players, cell phones, navigation units, and CD changers.
